The Singaraja District Court in Bali has sentenced Australian Philip Robert to serve eight years in jail for engaging in pedophile acts, tempointeraktif.com reports.
During Robert’s trial Thursday, judge Frida Ariyani said the court had found the 61-year-old defendant guilty of sexually violating dozens of teenagers in Singaraja.
The case unfolded when local police received reports from some of the abuse victims in August last year.
The court said Robert, who has been living in Singaraja since 1999, was luring the teenagers by inviting them to play billiards at his home. He would then give them between Rp 25,000 (US$2.2) and Rp 30,000 for any child who was willing to perform oral sex.
Robert said he would file an appeal against the verdict. (ewd)
Mark Andrew Austin comment, Well Outside the RI thanks
A drip in the ocean. Buleleng (where this all happened) is pedophile grand central, but the police do nothing normally of course, so this guy was set up, almost certainly by the “boys” or their families. There exist documented reports of pedophiles in this same area and guess what the Singaraja police do? That’s right, they accept complaints of criminal libel by said alleged pedophiles against the people who name them!
Never mind all the evidence these likely perverts are ruining the lives of young children, in Indonesia the criminals have protection! You want to see how bad the problem is? Just Google “Lovina Pedophile”. By the way, if you happen across the Sydney Morning Herald article while doing this and see the comments by one Silvia Binder, I understand she has now had to leave or rather flee her home and business because of what she said about the Singaraja police in this respect.
